For over four decades, Mr. Santhanakrishnan has been part of India's industrial growth story, building businesses, introducing innovative products, creating employment, and contributing to society through healthcare and community initiatives.
A science graduate with an Honours Degree in Ceramics from the United Kingdom, Mr. Santhanakrishnan’s early years were shaped by exposure to some of the world’s leading industrial establishments across the UK, Europe and Japan.
These experiences instilled in him a deep appreciation for quality, innovation, technology, and operational excellence, principles that continue to guide every venture he is associated with.
Upon returning to India, he joined Sri Krishna Tiles & Potteries (Madras) Private Limited, a family-owned enterprise, where he gained hands-on experience in manufacturing, business operations, and industrial management.
This foundation laid the groundwork for an entrepreneurial journey that would span multiple industries and decades.
Mr. Santhanakrishnan went on to establish and promote several successful enterprises across engineering, manufacturing, exports, environmental solutions, agriculture and paper industries.
Throughout his career, he has been known for identifying emerging opportunities, building sustainable businesses, and introducing technologies that contributed to the advancement of Indian industry.
One of the defining chapters of his career was his leadership at S & S Power Switchgear Limited, where he played a pioneering role in introducing several advanced electrical products to the Indian market through strategic collaborations with global technology leaders.
Under his leadership, the company established itself as a respected name within the power and electrical equipment sector.
Beyond business, Mr. Santhanakrishnan has always believed that entrepreneurship carries a larger responsibility to contribute positively to society. His interests have extended into healthcare awareness initiatives, charitable activities, agriculture, education and cultural development.
He has been actively associated with Penn Nalam, an initiative of Sri Dhanvantri Trust, dedicated to increasing awareness about breast and cervical cancer among women and supporting healthcare accessibility.
He has also played an important role in promoting arts and culture through his association with Rasika Ranjani Sabha, one of Chennai’s most respected cultural institutions.
